BUZZ SAW, Art from Sequential Artists Workshop
Wayfarers Gallery, 1109 Dekalb Ave.
Reception: Friday, November 4, 7 to 10pm
Additional Hours: Saturday and Sunday, 11 to 7
Come see over 60 works of original art from faculty, staff, and alumni from SAW, the country’s premier school for cartooning, comic arts, and graphic novels.
Hailing from Gainesville Florida, Sequential Artists Workshop opened its doors in January 2012. Since then, its members have accomplished so much—teaching comics to scores of students, opening their doors for dozens of art shows to hundreds of visitors, and partnered with a multitude of artists and organizations from all over the country, all supporting the mission of nurturing and educating sequential artists and promoting sequential art and sequential art literacy in our culture.
The exhibit is curated by Tom Hart, SAW’s founder and director, and writer of the renown Hutch Owen and most recently the powerfully poignant Rosalie Lightning. The show’s opening will be Friday, November 4th from 7 to 10, the eve of the Comic Arts Brooklyn show, and will be open Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 7pm.
Come celebrate zines and comics with us! Bradenton Zine Fest will be held at Jerk Dog Records in Bradenton's Village of the Arts neighborhood, and will coincide with the October First Saturday Art Walk. This event will be free to table and to attend! ♥
